Biografi

Percy Bysshe Shelley was an English Romantic poet born in 1792 and died in 1822. His poetry is characterized by a blend of lyrical beauty, radical political thought, and a visionary exploration of nature. Central themes include the quest for freedom, the transient nature of power, and the relationship between the human mind and the natural world. His style employs rich imagery and musical verse, often invoking myth and symbol. Notable works include the sonnet 'Ozymandias', which reflects on the decay of empires; 'Ode to the West Wind', a plea for personal and social renewal; the lyric 'To a Skylark'; and the lyrical drama 'Prometheus Unbound'. He also wrote political pamphlets and the verse drama 'The Cenci'. Shelley was a significant figure in the Romantic movement, associated with other writers such as Lord Byron and his wife Mary Shelley. His early death by drowning at sea cut short a prolific career, but his influence endured through later generations of poets.
