As of the first day,
Cliques are formed,
The bullies and jocks,
Geeks and band nerds,
Slammed into the lockers,
Fearing the halls,
Forced to do the bullies’ homework,
Getting pushed against a wall,
The teasing is constant,
Hatred and enemies result,
The principal wanting to stay out of the way,
Fearful, having been bullied in the past,
When their faces aren’t buried in the books,
They become hesitant,
Indecisive,
Irrelevant,
A big bully, hoping to change
a lifetime of regret.
Did things he never wanted to,
said things he never meant.
Every word would hurt.
Every action would bleed.
He may have tried to be kind,
but he'd still plant a bad seed.
That seed would grow and grow,
causing so much pain.
Useless, stupid, piece of crap,
here his name-calling would begin.
He did not understand what was wrong,
for used to it he was.
His jokes and insults, plain and true,
without a hint of remorse.
They warn us of bullies.
Saying never be one.
Don't hurt someone else.
For your own petty reasons.
But what about ourselves?
Why don’t they warn us,
warn us of the damage we can do.
The damage to ourselves.
Beating myself up over dumb things I do.
The scars are proof.
Of the bully inside.
Does she tell me the truth?
Am I really that fat?
Am I really that ugly?
Stop eating!
Stop feeling!
