Dave Bonta
I fell into a hole of books
and everything
even my wife
happened as in a book
sleep is as much trouble
as any place to go to
pretty but disordered
making us stay so long
a hole full of company
they bore and bore
which makes me lodge
in my own amber
the perfect hole of a state
should please the Lord
sick with work
is a mind as free as the world
as the hole under my hand
the hole I find myself to be
I have gone good and dull
left alone in a hole
caution now used
against any door
to another time where it seems
I fell down dead
but am pretty well
town is a hole I stepped in
with my voice full of hard use
jostled and crowded
fallen I get up again
I will live sparingly
I am a dog, come to kill
that tip of the tail again
and dig the hole deeper.
Strange to so trepan
my own never mind.
My mist is rich.
a hard turn in
the garden
of love
making a hole
to look into
and the dirt
when my house is
pulled down
the night I see
life goes by in a blur in this hole.
straight past the sunshine, the garden,
the love,
the light.
the abyss is all you know.
A plant in between my fingers, caught on fire.
I told myself I would never fall down this hole
But we can't all be as strong as we wish
Maybe one day I'll live my day dreams..
But that day isn't today
