Once Upon a Time

They say it's a story By starting with Such a line But I can't help To think that maybe That's a lie It happened So it should be Once upon a time Though maybe it All is made up Perhaps we aren't Even here The people you meet The memories you've had That is truly Something to think about And also scary Because then We would truly Be alone In this world Where people Are already Desperate

Tick Toc

In my room On the top of my dresser Sits a clock It does not work But still tries To tick toc When I'm lonely I look at it The smallest hand Struggling to move Paused on only one time I think it might be an omen That maybe I need to move on But from what? A question That remains unanswered

You Need to Know

I think you need to know You say I'm old enough to understand Yet you always say I'm too young So don't tell me something You think I'm old enough To understand Because you're confused Make up your mind Most likely I don't understand Or I just can't handle it I'm that age Where you step On a thin sheet of ice Every time you open your mouth So do not tell me That I'm old enough to understand When I'm too young to be myself

That I Know

Your breaths have gone heavy now I lay there wondering Why I can't understand We have an age difference That I know You have gone through more So much more That I know But you expect me to help You forget I'm younger I don't know heartbreak All I know Are the lies I tell myself Just to get through the day You make it seem Like your problems are bigger And I understand You go through a lot But don't pile it on me Not when I'm still trying To find myself

The Walls

The Walls are shedding They dispose of the lies and tears The "no's" and the "you can't"s Everything they've seen Everything they've been a part of

I wish they could speak up Because only The Walls know me They were there for every broken heart Every time I thought I couldn't go on I still question even that

The Walls are melting They can no longer withstand the pain The pain that I feel everyday As I struggle to sleep at night And stay awake during the day

The Walls are gone And I'm beginning to question If they were ever here They disappeared as if a cloud As if even they knew I was too far gone

You and Her

Everything is different now You used to have me Now you have her

The laughter throughout the night An echo branded into my brain Gone, like the leaves on the trees You share that with her now

Staying up well past midnight Exploring our darkest secrets Fitting them together like a puzzle I guess your pieces fit better with hers

We used to have a never ending song Always in constant harmony I suppose not everything lasts forever Then again, you've known her longer

Yet I linger here, waiting And also contradicting Should she feel the same pain? Would I wish it on my worst enemy?

I was once told great stories live on But it seems ours has come to a close Now you have yours to write

Run Dry

As I lay here I am blank I have no real purpose and a thousand worries Without much faith I try to cry I'm tired of feeling I'm tired of everything I'm just trying to cry Thoughts easily overlap each other No real purpose in life I try to cry But I have run dry

The Way She Smiled

I think it had something to do with the way she smiled She often did so when reading a book, or looking at a friends text She would look around, hoping no one caught her in the act I, however, have always been there

I think it had something to do with the way she laughed She would throw her head back, having absolutely no cares in the world Her whole body would darken like a paler shade of red I have always laughed with her mind

I think it had something to do with her dark blue hair Her confidence grew as her hair became much like the deep ocean tides She began to hold her head up higher to the high sky These changes I noticed the most

I think that until now, you thought this was a love poem In a way it kind of is, self love is more important after all Thanks to myself, I do not feel so alone anymore And for that, I thank you the most
