Facing north after the snowstorm windless clouds.
Wayne Ray’s three lines capture a moment just after a storm. A speaker turns to face north; the snow has stopped, and the sky is filled with clouds that are not moving. There is no wind, no falling snow, no sound. The poem gives us only a body, a direction, and a sky.
