I Promise

Ebonee GraceInspired

I always liked the phrase "Don't make a promise you can't keep" Why make a promise then? You'd just end up hurting Yourself and people who expected I would never want someone to feel neglected But then I wanted to make a promise to myself I have no idea if I can keep it And yet I wanted to make it With the possibility of hurting myself For I realized that it was a symbol of hope A goal that I need to reach If I wanted to survive And keep myself alive So therefore I promise myself That I will get better Become the person I want To gain more understanding of the world That it will get better My surroundings of home My life in general I'm not a fan of making promises I can't keep Yet I promise
