Sonnet for Abe
My love for you continues to this day. With our photographs and history I stay. Writing stories of our life together keeps me brave: Alive, and feeling better. Diction, sound, and words compose my way. Without, the house would be in disarray. Today I moved your journals to the hall, Last night I collaged our bedroom wall. Abe, remember our gazebo in the yard? I painted it with pictures of the bard. Come to me, listen, Sweet, to the bird’s song. Just a minute, sit with me, not for long. We’ll read Shalom Aleichem in the shade, snuggle like we used to. Then go, my Abe.
