I stare up at the sky and I wonder if the snow gets tired of falling Or if the rain is eager to run dry
At night I wonder if the stars get tired of shinning bright And if they're like people Holding onto broken thread Struggling to hang on But desperately wanting to fall
I wonder if the birds simply don't want to fly And want to stay home Somber and solemn Till they get sick of being in their nests
I wonder if the sun struggles to rise And is desperate to set Or if the moon ever wishes to not been seen
I wonder if the leaves find it hard when autumn comes And if it hurts to let go From the branches up above
I wonder if the clouds ever desire to fade To be whisked away Hidden from the day
I wonder if the waters just want to disperse If the waves ever get bored of the splish and the splash If they ever just want to take a break From being a home to the animals of the sea
I wonder if the grass gets angry after being trampled and eaten It grows and is trampled It restores itself Then it's eaten Just to regrow again every season
I wonder if the trees think its worth it To live and to die To come back to life To be desecrated by dogs and drunks To be cut down To be stripped To be abused Just to die And be forced to regrow every spring Just to be treated the same way all over again
I wonder if fire ever gets sick of burning And desires to switch places with water And if water ever desires to switch places with fire
I wonder if the air desires to pause Desires to take a mental health day And clean itself of all the filth People put into it
I wonder if the earth ever tires of rotating If it's axis gets rusty as it turn and turns
I wonder If the nature of things Ever desires not to function as created to The way people do
