Your Skin

Your skin was smooth against the covers of my bed, Those early morning sunrises on sundays, I looked forward to your presence for it kept me warm at night, And when you skin touched the blankets it blessed my spot all week, You came over late at night and left with the sun, But I remember watching you sleep, As if you were a stalemate in the war between our hearts, And when you would awaken our love would battle others, Your skin was soft againgst my callused fingers, And my skin was sickly against your gazing glare.
