the end of the day

Hazel McKayContemplative

It's the end of the day, It's the end of the day, The light is soft on my cheek, The sun is low in the sky, It's afternoon.

The sun is nearly gone, The sun is nearly gone, It's on the rim of the horizon, It's slowly lowering, It's sunset.

Now the sun is gone, Now the sun is gone, The first stars are glowing, The moon is rising, It's twilight.

The moon is high in the sky, The moon is high in the sky, A nightingale sings into my ear, The stars are aglow, It's midnight.
