Lightning flashes through the dark, Mimicking brother Day; So angering sweet sister Night she calls upon the Thunder's might To frighten her away.

Lightning flees for but a time, for she's a flighty thing: and, as she forgets her fear Once again she does appear And again does thunder ring.

Rain keeps on throughout it all: She's seen their fights already, And though she must keep peace inside The bickering, fighting weather pride She's always calm and steady.
