Move On

Jen CzahurInspired

There may not be enough to go around But I am edging and breaking And falling out into the new pattern of this crippled life I am the dotted line down the side of your notebook paper I am the place where your story tears itself off of the book And becomes something fragmented and all alone And ridiculous I am the creation spot I am the ego let down that builds to destroy River deep and ocean swept and cliffs high and mighty Don’t doubt me says the world above me Don’t fear me says the mother all around me We are one in the same And we call your name And we draw you out Of the chaos that has scuffled and bargained And made itself chosen Even though no one really chose this No one really knows this And if you sit and contemplate You will see that no one really holds this As close to their heart as you do dear As much of their soul invested in the dream That fathers are brave And mothers are loving And gods are forgiving And sins are rewarding There can’t be a fairytale ending Because time is infinite And before you can move from this space to that This life to something more You need to recognize That it was never your fault that things went wrong But it is your destiny To push and pull and find a way To simply move on
