Ear Mark

Jen CzahurInspired

All the faces of the divinity Spreading out and showing colors And making promises All of the eyes and all of the smiles And the hands that welcome me Pushing me through time Because I just wouldn’t go Willingly Traces of her everywhere I roam And still she leads me elsewhere There is never a resolution The composition is binding And abating And failing me because I fail I am the constant state of failing But I am also learning I slid down the map Through mud and a burning hot panic And dug my heels in Just when it felt like the thing to do Wasn’t chasing this time Just running for the sake of running Only to find out now That running away from anything Is the same as chasing down your fate And you get there any faster And all you have an abundance of What should’ve been And what could’ve been And what will never be Not like it was intended Not like it was planned But none of that matters now Time to resurrect yourself Become that thing that you bragged about That monster that ate cities And demolished planets And maybe even deserved to be voted Class clown While I hide from the daylight It was never before so clear That home is not a dwelling But the earmark Of each monumental Personal Revolution.
