Palace

A white crystal palace Gleaming in the sun. Very inviting it seems Very calm Very peaceful Very happy. Nothing dies in this place Nothing breaks in this place. The people rest at night And dream happy dreams Of joyous experiences And cheerful things. And from the outside You can assume You've seen happiness itself. Inside The arguments And the shouts, The flying debris of broken dishes As her temper consumes her. And her other debating Whether he should leave. Debating whether To pack his suitcase And be the traveler While the other part of him Is silently screaming That he cannot hide From the unforgiving one. The self-proclaimed queen Of this world Will not let him run and hide From the fights And the outbursts. Because at one point He was the traveler Who stepped inside The white crystal palace So now he must stay.
