My Lovely Wife

Getting dressed Hope im not late Going to a restaurant On our first date

Cotton candy kisses And hotdog hugs Carnival rides And getting bit by bugs

Sitting in the dark Watching a screen It's movie night Date #3

Feeding geese Until it's dark Having a picnic At the park

Getting married Starting our lives I'm proud to call you My lovely wife

Now I'm here Alone at home Still can't believe That you're gone

It's been 10 years Since you died But Im still here Without you by my side

Now I'm a grandfather Our kids are grown They have kids and lives Of their own

I am old At the end of my life Soon I will be reunited With my lovely wife

(a poem about an elderly man who misses his deceased wife)
