True Colors
So here's what I've been thinking: I've always belonged in front of an easel. With a canvas propped up and a paintbrush in my hand and every color I need at my disposal, I can let my imagination run wild.
From what I've read and experienced, there's a time and a place to share your thoughts, to express your creativity. In some situations, you could bring up an idea as crazy as a creature with eight legs and a dinosaur head, adorned with a mane and wearing a tutu and bunny slippers, and no soul would even dream of judging you.
In others, people would look at you as if you were that hideous beast if you came up with something as absurd as that.
And then there are places where you don't have to worry about which of those situations you are currently in. You can think and say just about anything you'd like, and the only one there to judge you would be yourself.
The easel. In solitary. There, I don't need to pay attention to the opinions of the crowds. I just need to become inspired, get the supplies I will require, and paint like my heart controls the brush.
And when the crowds make their way to my masterpiece, all they need to do is look at art in its most beautiful form and see nothing but my ideas, my creativity, and my colors.
My true colors.
