Water Lily

Kearsen E.Contemplative

The water churns Fish swarming Bugs hopping Yet in the middle of the pond, Lies a serene water lily

The fish jump around, stirring the surface. The alligator lies at the bottom, Springing on anything that comes nye Yet in the midst of chaos, Remains the water lily, Silent and still.

Words cannot describe it's beauty, Only the through the eyes of the onlooker. Sought after by many, The water lily becomes weary.

First comes the bug, Seeking it's petals for refuge. Next comes the fish, seeking the bug. Then comes the crane, Seeking the fish. The water lily remains.

Some may wonder, How? The answer can only be seen by those who care. In all it's serenity, The water lily tells a new story A story of life, Of love.

Most agree, The water lily is beautiful, But that only scratches the surface. Most think it's the flower that makes it beautiful, That's not even the beginning.

The water lily is a symbol. A symbol of love, A symbol of life, A symbol of deep emotion, A symbol of patience.

The water lily waits, Waits for the one.

I lie awake sometimes thinking, How? Then I remember, There's more to the water lily. More than any onlooker will ever see, for the onlooker does not actually care about the water lily. But if there's on thing I know, I care. I will wait with the water lily, Until it notices.

The water lily waits, and I wait for the water lily.
