6 (thinkin' bout' you)

tonight I am at home thinkin' bout' you yeah, we don't talk anymore but I hope you're doing alright I remember the day we first met funny really, we both had sinus infections in the nurses office, miserable I recall thinking to myself "I've heard rumors about that kid, he's cute but I should stay away" I fell into the trap of your gleaming smile we exchanged numbers right then and there, in front of the nurse ahh, I was so happy but that was the beginning 1 year, 5 months ago

I'm not happy anymore

when I was a young girl, about 7, I fell out of the tree in front of my house I swear I broke my heart at the time I came crying to my mother she whipped off my tears with her thumb and said "baby girl, your ribs are there to protect your heart. you're gonna be just fine." turns out your ribs break pretty easily the moment you meet a beautiful boy in the nurses office the lies he told me they rolled off his tongue like it was second nature deep down inside he knew it wouldn't last he avoided the words "always, forever" as I remember, as he would say "a long time"

you made me feel special the typical "good morning gorgeous" texts yeah, I'm ashamed I fell into that trap too

one night I recall like it was yesterday it was over you left me on the side of the road crying

nah, I'm not over you you got a new girl now "3 months strong" she says I just hope she doesn't fall into the trap of your beautiful brown eyes
