I said that I would leave just for a bit and I promised that I would be right back. You acted as though the world had ended and you didn't want me to leave.I liked it.It was cute. But then,It got worse. That one day, I opened my big mouth and told you that I'd be gone just for a little bit, destroyed you.We fought every night over the stupidest littlest things.I blamed myself for each and every one of them.I still do.No matter if it was actually my fault or not.I always thought, and still do, think that it was and is completely my fault.I was always the first to apologize.Because that was how guilty I felt. That was how much I cared. That was how much I loved you.
I have so many things that I could say.Every time you made me sad.Cry.Or mad.But I choked them back and made an excuse.Do you know what happened to those words that were never said? They became the tears I cried every night.
You came to me with your problems.I came to you with mine.We used to talk all the time.But now,That went away.You closed up.Shut me out.I couldn't reach you anymore.It wasn't like I could help you anyways.But at least I tried.But I can no longer anymore.Because I am unwanted and unneeded.I couldn't help before.And I definitely can't help now.After all.Am.
The warm sun is failing, the bleak wind is wailing,The bare boughs are sighing, the pale flowers are dying,And the YearOn the earth her death-bed, in a shroud of leaves dead,Is lying.Come, Months, come away,From November to May,In your saddest array;Follow the bierOf the dead cold Year,And like dim shadows watch by her sepulchre. The chill rain is falling, the nipped worm is crawling,The rivers are swelling, the thunder is knellingFor the Year; The blithe swallows are flown, and the lizards each gone
I never lost as much but twice,And that was in the sod.Twice have I stood a beggarBefore the door of God!Angels -- twice descendingReimbursed my store --Burglar! Banker -- Father!I am poor once more!
The weight of misfortune has stooped my shouldersBut I don’t intend to stop for a good while yet;I afflict my own destinyAnd don’t want anyone to mourn for my fate.I’ve made peace with God on my lossesAnd agreed with him on the epitaphsThat should be written about my senseless wars.
