In hindsight... Houndstooth Hidden, yet hinted, slightly Part of a pattern Paisley, pen's stripes Stripped of sophistry Numbed to normalcy amidst the Mundane modes Swaths, swatches Practically forgotten in the fabric of times spent Pretty pennies Cuts, measured, hewn, Tailored, tinted, tinged Intertwined Twines, burlaps, leathers Lacework, cotton, vinyls, esters Bamboo, wool, alpaca Fleece Fleeting feasts for famished eyes Eagerly craving creative styles From jeans, bags and purses to Hats, scarves and satchels Even corduroy and a print Reminiscent of grandma's old curtains A sweater, knit A plastic tray on the counter to collect my coins An abrasive old madame, tired of another day I garnish my treasures and, abrupt, slip away from the sweet muffled tones and scents of linens Handicrafts await! Me and my singer My crookneck and twin pins My loom and wheel The workshop where my memory's quilts are sewn
