I lit an incense today. In that, I once again met Smoke.Smoke is a beautiful girl.I have loved her my whole life.Whether we come together from a cigarette or a fire,She always leaves her smell on me as a memory of her visit.Today, I tried to confess.I offered my hand to her.I wished to danceTo Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D Major,My favorite of his works. When we made contact,She dissolved. She apologized, but it's okay.Instead, she swarmed my senses,Making my numbed brain buzz.
My dad is a drunk. All he does is sit in the garage and drink to numb his problems,Instead of facing them.He feels like a failure.I understand that. But he needs to understand that he was never a failure until he picked up a bottle. He's terribly ill all the time,Can't hold down a job,And has me for a child.I know that's gotta hurt. But he lets it hurt my family. He no longer talks to his brother. He is forbidden from his mother's house. He and mom fight all day, and then cuddle at night.I'm sick of them playing house.I don't think they remember what love feels like.
I tired to love her,Even if it just had to be in the dark. She may have said no,But that girl is still a work of art.She lost her religion,And her parents too.I'll still be there for her,And I could never sayHer affection is overdue. He tries to love meAnd I can't say no.I know what it feels like,Alone in the cold.He deserves better,And I don't think I love him like that,But karma might hit me back.
The Winters are so short --I'm hardly justifiedIn sending all the Birds away --And moving into Pod --Myself -- for scarcely settled --The Phoebes have begun --And then -- it's time to strike my Tent --And open House -- again --It's mostly, interruptions --My Summer -- is despoiled --Because there was a Winter -- once --And al the Cattle -- starved --And so there was a Deluge --And swept the World away --But Ararat's a Legend -- now --
How still, how happy! Those are wordsThat once would scarce agree together;I loved the plashing of the surge -The changing heaven the breezy weather,More than smooth seas and cloudless skiesAnd solemn, soothing, softened airsThat in the forest woke no sighsAnd from the green spray shook no tears. How still, how happy! now I feelWhere silence dwells is sweeter farThan laughing mirth's most joyous swellHowever pure its raptures are.Come, sit down on this sunny stone:'Tis wintry light o'er flowerless moors -But sit - for we are all aloneAnd clear expand heaven's breathless shores.
What will they do when I am gone? It is plainThat they will do without me as the rainCan do without the flowers and the grassThat profit by it and must perish without.I have but seen them in the loud street pass; And I was naught to them. I turned aboutTo see them disappearing carelessly. But what if I in them as they in meNourished what has great value and no price?Almost I thought that rain thirsts for a draughtWhich only in the blossom's chalice lies,Until that one turned back and lightly laughed.
