Who Am I

To me I see A mess upon the leaves A brush A stroke Painted on the canvas Of my dreams A seed Planted in the winter Never sprouts Without Water and warmth No warmth No water An outside daughter No place in time No place of mine I'm no one What's me A mess of a person in the mirror The cracks become clearer I can't see Who I was in the windows of my past And I paint everything black Everything I've ever loved and lacked I am the silver lining on the back Of The reflection I wish I lacked Who am I to me No one and nothing can conquer But everything can Someone can I want to be a person A face in the crowd More than an empty void Ran away from like a plague A mess I wave my white flag I'm too tired to commit to crimes Of red wine and white chalk A tangled mess of thought
