I may not walk the best walk I may not talk the best talk I may not belong to the world you belong to But I'll give it all I've got, and show you what I've got to. I know I'm not perfect, for perfection is a disgrace And not a trace of it you'll find.... In my world, that's full of excruciating pain Of the mystical adventure that starts on my bed at five, in aphotics And gives me bruises till I surrender and go under my sheets again. But you see, I'm bleeding, bleeding all over, for I didn't surrender Neither would I. Go on, go out on a hunt for a treasure, And you'll find sapphire inside my eyes. For they burn, they burn out bright To warm this goddamn cold heart of mine And give it a rythm that beats to the tunes we made together. You say I've grown up now, For I've started seeing the defects of the people Whom I once thought were flawless. You say I've changed now, As I get wounded by words easily. When I fell down and hurt myself, as a kid, When I wrote wrong spellings of the words I already knew, My father said, you're careless, Now he says, SON, CARE-LESS. I remember walking the forest, heads held high The grunge of the distorted licks echoed As the cold hearted beast's den we passed by, In mockery, the time hit a chord The lanes back then are now somewhat broad, for the nostalgia to fit in. These moments I lived, with the sorrows that sneaked in. But in my world too, I feel hollow, I feel incomplete without you.
