I Fall

Can you feel it? The pure joy of falling? I open my eyes and I am surrounded by clouds, the sun illuminates their edges and blinds me with it’s brilliance I am in a pocket of golden surrounded by white And the wind glides along my skin and steals the breath from my lungs My shirt snaps painfully against my stomach and I feel so alive I fall head first towards a ground that does not exist and I can only laugh Goosebumps raise against my arms and if anyone else were to join this dream would they understand? Would they be able to grasp why I fall so joyfully, why I laugh as the wind rips tears from my eyes? Would they be able to fall with me? To be able to close their eyes and be content with not knowing if the fall will ever stop? I do not see the ground, I feel so light I could pass through it I could float if I wanted I could fly But there is such emotion in falling To give in to the gravity, to trust it fully Adrenaline pools in my stomach and I laugh as it falls to my throat and rises to my toes I spread my arms wide and run my fingers through the wind And I fall Surrounded by beauty At peace and joyful I fall
