Somedays
I am so intoxicated With the scent of your neck When I press my head Into the crease of your shoulder I admire the way You would pull me close With your arm around my Slouching hip And you would lean your lips Onto the front of my forehead And lay a kiss of protection on my skin I am so happy That you make me happy And I am in love with the fact That flowering thoughts of you seem to crowd my mind like weeds that used to grow But you have taken them away And restored my mind with pretty flowers That do not seem to wither On some days Those pesky weeds seem to grow back And I am sad and weary once again But I know you are there With your shovel and seeds and Your dirt and water And you tend to my mind like it is your garden I still remember when you kissed me And planted an orchid behind my ribs (It is still there if you were wondering) And I still pluck at the petals Wondering if you love me or not -My friend
