A Lost Summer

I miss the summer. The cool breeze that would blow The memories of running and screaming Chasing that sense of joy.

I miss the summer. The sense of freedom that it brought Like the world was mine to conquer...for three months at least The inescapable heat that never left Refuge always sought out by those who couldn't bear it.

I miss the summer. The times of pure joy and relaxation All the day dreams that had meaning And all of the brain freezes from ice cream

I miss the summer. I miss being a child. I miss being able to run around and not have to worry about the consequences. I miss feeling that sense of joy. Finding happiness even on the most boring of days.

I miss the summer. How it used to bring me closer to my family Unity through that feeling of wonder No clock existed that could take my time from them

I miss the summer. I miss its joy. Its freedom, Its endless clock.

But most importantly, I just miss you... After all, summer was your favorite season...
