Stop the Music
If the dead are coughing
While a sparrow tears curtains
With high notes and disdain
Will they be neglected in the resurrection Or will they be denied a drink
Of cool water
Or will the curtain fall
In a furrow of diamond-cut shellac With the label clawed away
And a hole in place of a heart
