A New Way
I noticed a new way to be on a bed, with or without you, so the critics that used to sit on my forehead’sbalcony don’t look down anymore to watch you wantonly or clap their hands to make you come to attention or stand mine together in prayerful effigy.
I keep rolling out new thoughts in nouny shapes: Saladness, sundriness, doneness, agedom, almosthood. I am sad at my meanness to words never nouned yellowing there in the hot draught of time.
I have found new areas of indifference, new ways of twisting and settling the sky’s lid on the earth’s pan, new fashions of flirtation with passing houses, people, organizations.
