heart

i hold your heart in the palm of my hand; i admire the pulsing crimson life-force flowing through the network of veins, tinted, just as stained glass when the light hits it at the right spot. luminescent skin reveals deep, blue-black flesh throbbing with hidden whispers and secrets unknown to any man, ivory white tendons, worn and torn, just as the foundations of a fortress holding up the bruised chambers of the castle of your heart. feeling the fullness of your flesh in the warm embrace of my digits, a shadow flickers, and i wrench my palm closed,

reforge

i gather these fragments lying on my palm, blowing a faint wish into the gaps of the shining glass, shattered but yet not broken; i raise my prayer towards the morning sun and chant a silent oath. and as the boiling furnace melts and burns the hardened shreds into crystal goblets of fortified lava, i tuck it close to my heart, reforging them into something only i can wield, something i will be able to dedicate this treasure to another vessel of my heaven, to another hell i have yet to experience before.

kind envy

i wish i was kinder, and that my heart was one filled with milk and cookies, not with the violent commotion of green envy swirling in the vortex of a confused cavity, in the dark, i grasp aimlessly for the answer, for that one golden drain plug, but the feeling never reaches my fingers, leaving me to drown, on my own. as i lay in these raging pool of emotions, static fills my head, a never-ending swarm of bees cloud its prey, leaving me bruised and weary, intoxicated as i play hive and carrier of the overly sweet nectar my

grounded

suddenly i cant hear anything other than the loud thumping of my own heart, the faint scent of sweet potatoes and freshly worn clothes waft in the charged air around us. crowds buzz by in an endless stream of life, forming and dissolving into shapeless blobs, a remainder of the world revolving and expanding as time just seems to pause for a while; a break in its inexhaustible pace makes my hairs stand on edge in the apprehension of it all. static fills my head and i nearly succumb to the buzzing electricity in my soul,

frost

frost, i breathe in, the freezing air filling my lungs, bleeding into my veins, chilling to the bone, as it spreads throughout me; a network of ice just as a cobweb, and i am the pitiful prey trapped by nature's embrace. teeth chattering, reddened skin pricks at sensitive nerves threatening to fall apart any moment, a frostbitten heart ceases to beat no more. for acceptance is one that cannot be forced, for it is nature's law that love has its destiny, for it is our right to refuse another.

hands

it is now midnight, as it was midnight then. eyes, blinking furiously from the exhaustion, squinting at the phone screen clutched firmly in those two hands, the same two hands pulling me into this trap, this temptation, the two hands wrapping itself firmly around the blue-black veins on my neck, sinking in; the same two hands which fit like jigsaw puzzles into the crevices of shellfish and crustaceans, which ravage and tear them apart, red, burning hot skin torn into pieces; the same hands feeling the cool sensation on the glass protector of the smartphone as the deepest inches of your heart are left in the open for all to devour, for you to lose and be heard;

lune

today i admired the moon once again on my way home. it was a cloudless night, just as years ago, the same steps, the same path, the same old thing. however, that same luminous glow of the moon was much gentler, much more loving and soothing as compared to back then, its light no longer glaringly icy as if it could cut steel; but it was as warm as if it could melt the frost around my heart, encasing me in a past never forgotten, its unloving grasp pulling me in, sinking in, drowning. my hands finally unravelling the red threads binding me to fears, insecurities, delusions, regret, guilt; as i raise my hand up one last time and remember, the same scenery, the same path,
