Because the electric guitar had no hole,
in the middle of a song
the old bluesman lowered his mouth to it
& plucked the strings with his gold-
capped teeth.
Because the sawhorse had no head,
it didn’t know which way to run
when a plank saddled it,
& it let the saw whinny
for both of them.
Because the hermit had no wife,
he bought a clock
with a loud tick
& wound it faithfully once a week
with a little brass key.
Because the trailer had no cellar,
It leaves me in the morning and returns at night.
Sometimes pleasant, other times unwelcome.
It loves the sun but resents how bright.
It takes away my soul, when darkness beckons.
Sometimes returning it as I wake.
Sometimes keeping it until the next day.
The next week.
The next year.
It wasn't coming back.
i practice disappearing for days on end
so that when i leave
no one will notice
until i am long gone and long forgotten
As I pass through that passage alone.
I remember the first time we met there.
In that same spot.
Not much has changed since then...
The same blooming bushes.
The same rusty lamppost.
The same black dog sleeping on his side, with a dead leaf in his mouth.
Everything is here at the same spot.
While you are not.
You were like a star to me.
You have always been for me.
Either if it's day or night
You cared,loved, protected;
Like a brother, friend
More than a friend;
Yeah, best friend.
Everytime when i look at the stars
That reminds me of you
They say dead souls become stars.
Are you a star ?
Do you still check on me?
I missed you when you were gone
I still do.
So, my dear best friend;
You are the brightest star i knew
In the bright yet seemingly so dim evening lights, the crowded city's empty.
It is lonely here without you. And yet without you I wouldn't have noticed that.
Funny how the city oh-so crowded can be so hollow.
Empty.
Void.
Blank.
A white canvas.
(Opportunities?)
You overflow all that space with so much vivacity. So much life. And love and warmth and playfulness! So much of you takes over so very little of this.
And lack of you is a surprise.
It completely surpasses me that I'm just about to hit a lamppost, that I'll crash into people walking the opposite way.
But the realization of this absence causes me to lift my sight, making me aware, perceptive.
It's hard to realize, but it is needed.
Your hands are cold
Ice water
That's a nice thought
I walk
And I walk
Till my feet start to rot
Decompose with the soil
You lay
'Barren' about
Press my hands to the ground
You stopped caring about
I think
I think I can't
I can't tell if you stopped caring
Cuz where you went
I can't hear you now
doesn't seem like you missed me
guess I ment that little
I've been restless
Trying to forget you but you just appear out of no where,
in my memories
Since you've faded from my reality.
I miss you.
And when you miss a person there is no right or left to it
There is no apporpriate time or place
You just do it.
You can't control it. Or anything. I swear,
Missing is missing.
The exact moment I needed you, you weren't there.
That exact time you wanted me, I have already left.
Thank you
For not being there
When I needed you the most.
Trust me,
You are the one who taught me
Not to expect anything from anyone.
