it was afternoon
chai tea and sushi
in a quaint St. Louis eatery
she spoke
"yeah that nasty public bathroom came in handy"
the tapestry of Asian food, Indian tea and nasty restrooms
the sky was blue and the moment had rhythm
sidewalk illusions melting into the cobblestone
transitory thoughts dripping into the cracks
merging with century old dreams
translucent rainbows
and in the silence is an essence
yet to be spoken by lips I have yet to meet
dreaming of new illusions to dance with
out on the sidewalk he talks to his father on the cell phone
while the music plays upon mounted speakers inside the gay bar
