O ripples in the marshland grass
Like waves on an enchanted sea,
The winds, with trailing garments pass
Invisible adown the lea
Each footprint, evanescent, pressed
In shadowed highlight, trough and crest.
No spray upon those waves is seen
To splash upon the marshy bank;
Uncanny sea so strangely green!
While lurking in those coverts dank
What things of the abyss may dwell
Only the fear hushed winds might tell.
Far off where dunes aspiring melt
Into the sky, those currents flow
In turmoil neither heard nor felt
How furtively they come and go!
The journey ahead looks pretty far
I'll just play here and be the star!
Away from reality, living the fantasy
How beautiful my world can be!
Tim, ready your sword and let us fight the monster
I'll be the warrior and you'll be the hunter
And let us find the happily ever after!
Let us play, and play until mom brings us home
I miss my dad, he told me he will be fighting
Day after day, I keep on writing
Letters for him to show how I miss him
And how mom bought me ice cream!
Two months has passed and a man came at the door
And said that my father charged into the core
He told my mother, that dad is no more
I ran into my room, and cried on the floor
Do you think,do you think, do you think
If I blink,if I blink, if I blink
You won't be so near
That's my fear
That this will all disappear
Do you think,do you think,do you think
If I close my eyes
I'll be in for a surprise
I'll realize
This is all a fantasy
A made up twisted reality
A fairy tale gone wrong
In a far away land
Don't know why my mind can't understand
Don't know why it won't comprehend
Don't know why I don't believe
I watch her body wet and
dry her moods at dusk at
dawn she sips lemon tea
lemon shampoos blonde hair
lemon slice between glass and
blue eyes, a goddess of love
night and day. Beautiful
clothes shape silken breasts
swaddle golden child
intelligent conversation in
business in bed unmarried then
wed unavailable but saleable
relationship with her
one hour a day which is
everything, or nothing, or love.
I sailed in my dreams to the Land of Night
Where you were the dusk-eyed queen,
And there in the pallor of moon-veiled light
The loveliest things were seen ...
A slim-necked peacock sauntered there
In a garden of lavender hues,
And you were strange with your purple hair
As you sat in your amethyst chair
With your feet in your hyacinth shoes.
Oh, the moon gave a bluish light
Through the trees in the land of dreams and night.
I stood behind a bush of yellow-green
And whistled a song to the dark-haired queen ...
