Connect the dots

What am I worth? A dollar? A quarter? A penny? Lately this question has been lingering uninvited. Am I worthy of your love? Am I worthy of any love? I used to seek answers from the one "up above" Now I look within to see that I am nothing. My whole life I've been running. Running from pain, hurt, and loss. And I've never been fast enough. So my backup plan was look strong. I couldn't do that either. I always had to beg, Beg to be held and beg to be comforted.

problem

The problem is I may be good enough but I don't feel like I am, I may be pretty but what's the point if I don't feel it? I may be the nicest around but how do I see it? I hear the bad things you say but the good go through me The problem here is, I don't see my self worth.

* * *

You've told me once, You've told me twice, Others joined In and I allowed it. You said no one would love me, I'm on the lowest side of the scale I act like it doesn't bother me but sometimes it does, I still can't be as strong. Only the 1's would want me, you said, The highest the 7's. I don't really care what you say, though it does hurt that my only 10 has went to you, But who doesn't, right? You're what most kids want.
