The Watchdog

Hours pass. The watchdog waits. Steady as a rock. Wanting to be seen. But not heard. Guarding his sheep. He watches the intruder. A cat to us. Yet a villain to him. A usurper even.

Hours pass. Time is meaningless to him. He could sit and stare. As long as his sheep are there. And would not care. As long as they are safe.

Autumn chills

Wednesday Morning The cold air piercing my lungs The copper-coloured leaves, As kamikaze pilots, Plummer into the green sea.

The moon, Why are you out? You come without warning To watch over us Here one minute, gone in another.

The iced autumn winds Prickling, Tingling at my bare limbs Asserting its presence.

The sunlight tickling, Teasing, The still green soldiers On this Wednesday morning.

You

You're the cause You're the reason That I've been feeling All these feelings

You could have changed You could have been different But I never thought you would Even though you said you could

One AM in a graveyard

Red hued coloured skies The bronze horizons twinkle Skeletal branches

Noreen Part I

Gather 'round Close your eyes and Listen as I tell you a tale:

Let me introduce you to Noreen She, much like a sponge, sits and soaks everything in. Every morning you can see her Sitting, and staring. Sometimes, with a crossword puzzle nestled between her fingers.

As usual, Noreen sat there. All day, everyday. Contented by just sitting there, Watching, She watched as the buzz passed her by, Cocooned in her bus shelter.

Who did she watch? Why was she there?

As days passed, Getting colder, Families passing with their trees, The scent of sap filling the air, Festive lights emerging, Noreen stayed there. Alone. Yet in the company of passersby.

Did anyone notice her?

Noreen Part II

Cecile walked Everywhere, everyday. Absorbed in her own world. She walks.

As usual, Cecile was walking On her way to school She gazed at the swirling silvers and golds overhead. She walks Whistling to her own tune.

What was she thinking of?

As days passed Holidays growing closer Bakeries baking ginger treats The festive scents filling the air The lights glimmered Twinkled As Cecile passed them by.

Her eyes caught sight of a woman. Sitting, At peace, She just sat and stared Cecile never noticed her before.

Yet now she could not take her eyes off of her.

Who was she? Who did she watch? Why was she there?

Who was this girl? Dressed in all shades of blue. Skipping by dear old Noreen. Where was she going? Pondered Noreen as she sat and stared.

As the days passed The woman sat And Cecile stomped. She thought. And thought.

Why was she there?

One day, someday, Cecile went into that bakery She came out with nothing but a Hot Cross Bun. She walked, Skipped Over to a bench. She placed the bun next to Her.

"I know it is not the season, But I saw you liked crosswords so I bought you a hot cross bun"

Someone did notice her.

Pretty Cloud

Head stuck In a pretty rain cloud For too long Raindrops race down my cheeks It's time to leave Finally free, I look around

Iced leaves, bursting buds Crystal shards of ice untouched Sun rays hit branches

Mind vacant The sun shines on Rays reflecting in the pond Bees bumble by swaying swans Swallows swoop by bursting butterflies Clouds cluster

Save My Soul

The iced winds calm my thoughts They crash on the cliffs The froth building upon impact Save my soul Help me out of this hole Alone with the storm, I clamber onto scraps of flotsam I yearn to yomp out of these gallows But you pull me back in Save my soul. The winds get wilder The waves stronger Untameable A pause. No wind. Peace. Calm replaces chaos. Once more The storm returns Never have I felt so lost Yet warm As the the waves crash A cacophony of cries follow Of agony, Joy, Confused by these remote conditions Solitary as an oyster I wander under the light of your moonbow The cerulean waves Glimmer as they throw themselves on the rocks Whose features were soft Yet pronounced (ever so slightly) Sweet songs that sirens sing Soothing, Swirling, In my head Easing the agonising pain Wont you save my soul Sweet siren? Singing once again I felt my heart beat My hands quiver It seems I am being lifted Away from this torment Away from this Hell The voice stops My heart sinks My hands tied I am still shackled from inside.

Save my soul.
