Four short lines, and they hold a whole relationship at its uncertain end, or maybe its uncertain beginning. The speaker says that "you" saw something coming, and that "i" did too. The poem never says what "it" is, which is part of its charm. It could be a breakup, a falling-out, or the start of something neither of them planned.
What stands out is the last two lines. "So i guess there was some kind of / you and i" sounds like someone talking themselves into a conclusion. The "i guess" and "some kind of" are hedges, and they make the speaker sound unsure, even a little wry. There was a "you and i," but only vaguely, and only because both of them noticed the same thing.
The mood is quiet and offhand, with a hint of sadness underneath. The lowercase letters and the missing punctuation make it feel like a thought half-said, as if the speaker is still working out what the connection meant.
