The speaker feels trapped by time. It only moves forward, like the hands of a clock, while they badly want to go back. Time stops being a neutral thing and becomes an enemy that hunts, wants and hates them. The speaker doesn't want to move on at all. They want to stay in one moment, fix what went wrong, and hide from time while they do it.
The strangest and most telling part is the middle. Once everything is "all well," the speaker imagines finding a way to make it collapse again. That suggests a cycle: a loop of starting over, then hurt, pain, love, loss, and moving on. The short, stripped-down words at the end read like a list of stages the speaker keeps living through. The poem keeps breaking off with "I can't" and "I...", as if the words fail them. The mood is anxious, stuck and quietly desperate, a refusal to accept that things have ended.
