HAPPINESS: — Summary

Ch4y4xRomantic

Give me forever for a while Give me happiness At least give me a smile And take away my bitterness

I found you at midnight Only with a telescope My mind blown with hope Enlightened by your light

Explanations and Expectations fade away Taken by Transformation and Sensation

Ch4y4x's "Happiness" is a short plea from someone who wants joy and is willing to settle for very little of it. The speaker asks for "forever for a while," a neat contradiction that captures the wish for a lasting feeling, even if it only lasts a moment. If that's too much, a smile will do, as long as the bitterness goes away.

The second stanza shifts to discovery. The speaker "found you at midnight" with a telescope, which suggests the person or thing they found is distant, like a star, and hard to reach. Even so, it fills the speaker with hope and a sense of being enlightened by that light.

The final two lines step back and say that explanations and expectations disappear, replaced by transformation and sensation. In other words, the speaker stops analysing and simply feels. The mood is wistful but hopeful, moving from need toward a quiet kind of wonder.

Sometimes I think I finally found the one in you. Sometimes I wonder if you feel it too. Because when I look at you I don't feel ashamed anymore. Because when I look at you I see a true friend.

Never has anyone ever told me I was pretty So I can't help but smile when you do Never has anyone ever loved me this way So I don't wonder you're always here
