Two people float together in a dreamy, weightless space, and the poem uses the ocean to describe both their closeness and what lies underneath it. The first half is soft and sensory: fingers intertwined, light in their eyes, wind in their hair, gentle seas and streams. The speaker seems peaceful, even lifted, as if the moment barely touches the ground.
Then the poem dips below. Droplets from lashes "created this river" suggests tears, so the calm may carry some sadness or emotion. The final stanzas turn to silver mountains, gold bars and underwater dungeons, all hidden from the surface. Judging by the imagery, the speaker is saying that deep feelings, and perhaps memories or pain, stay out of sight even when things look serene. The word "dungeons" hints that some of this treasure is also locked away.
The mood is tender and quietly mysterious, a calm surface with something precious and heavy waiting below.
