I wish, that I could carry you in my pocket all day, Like some little good luck charm, Or a leaf, That has some exquisite venation that you find deep in the woods where there's no one around to hear you rustle around in the dead leaves, in order to find the one that's just barely clinging to life, But it's the perfect shade of green to describe just how lucky you feel to have someone who loves you Inexplicably Relentlessly And mostly, because you love them right back.

You are that leaf, That lucky shade of green leaf, Tucked neatly away in the safety of the back pocket of my favorite blue jeans, You are that leaf that represents all that is good within the world , And if I were to ever lose you, If somehow I ripped a stitch in my jeans and lost you to the chaos of the world, I couldn't imagine, Attempting to find, Another green leaf, Amongst the carcasses of dead wishes that lay among the brown leaves on the ground, Deep in the woods, Where no one is around.

I couldn't replace you if I tried, Because you are my leaf, My lucky green leaf that's always there, Reminding me of how to love, With every single absentminded touch, I give you, Just to remind myself that you're still there- that you're still mine.
