Tendrils creeping into me Darkness where there once was light Innocent I could not stay It was destined

Fractures of a lonely heart Crevices the darkest part Roots of a tree split them deep Black seeds then sown

Light hides the shadowy vines They lie where you cannot see The flame sustaining you drown Hopeful but gone

Running through dark tunnel ways Doors pass opportunities. To feel happy reveals pain The fire flickers

A gently breeze but bitter A small burden but drowning A single tear but oceans I do not cry

A broken heart never heals Alone on a Ferris Wheel Close my eyes imagine you You are not here

The sorrow turns my stomach A cold sweat envelopes me Memories of friends gone now Why can't I leave

They say it's not personal But it hurts me just the same And they are gone now just me It is just me

The dark tendrils crawl in young Clawing my chest open now Just to pull those tendrils out It can't be done

Each day I reap the harvest Dark seeds so long ago sown The blackest fruit is my heart From those tendrils
