A Silent Tear

She sits alone, In an endless cycle Of pain and misery From her deepening depression. Crimson carves a trail Over tender skin And drips to the ground. Winter's bitter cold Nips at her rosy cheeks But no one notices Her empty shadow. Pain, she believes, Makes her feel. Anything to distract Her from her own thoughts. She sits alone With only the uncaring wind As she shivers And releases a silent tear. She leans against a tree, And peers through the leaves To watch them dance And see the clouds roll by.
