Overthink

A night my observations outrun themselves like arguments against science or a Friday street, crying a seditious tear.

Gun

being sad doesn't mean I will cry, and being happy doesn't mean I will smile, because having a gun doesn't mean I'll shoot.

Not Okay Is Okay

My friend just told me he's suicidal- Not again, I think as I hold in my tears. Losing someone is hard, But losing someone when you know you could have helped Is like having someone rip out your heart. He thinks not being alright is bad- If that's true, I'm living the worst life anyone's ever had. Of all my friends, Only two are really okay. There's the one I tell everything, And the one I'm still trying to make. They both know I'm not at my best, But they still treat me like someone who's fine. I think it's cause they know being hurt is fine, And that it's okay not to be okay.

They say

They say she's strong But they don't know She walks around on a daily bases On the verge of tears You don't have a clue That she's not fine.

stop

They don't want to cry, they want it to stop. They don't want to cut, they want it to stop. so why haven't they stopped it? they don't want to die, they just want it to stop.

A helping hand

And when you, Sink to your knees, I'll stand you back up. And when you, Drown in your tears, I'll stand you back up. And when you, Break all your bones, I'll heal you. And when you, Lose all your hope, I'll heal you. And when you, Cry out for me, I'll be there. Even when you,

Behind a front

A smile, Easy to fake, Bringing pain, For others gain. A tear, Built over years, Full of hurt, And worldly fears. A fight, Just for show, To make others know, Of your might. A death, A reason to dress, Acting a mess, Not really affected.

I hadn't thought of you in weeks , maybe days. . . Sometimes I forget , that I make myself forget about you Until one day , you changed . but everything stayed the same . she brought you up today . I don't think they knew I was keeping a tally in my head . counting how many days it would take to forget you . or how long it would take for the ache in my heart to go away so here I am , tears running down my face , reminding myself you don't love me, & what she said can't be true because I thought I had just forgot about you .

On the Waves of the Ocean

As I lay drowning in a pool of your lies I whispered our love story to the lady of the waters She listened to my every word, dried my broken tears I became to love her softness and gentle womanhood I pledged to her my honor and respect above all others To treat her as my family A sister, aunt and Mother
