A letter to the year 2017

On the last night of 2009 I wrote my wish on green cut out fancy paper I wished for 2010 to be filled with peaceful parents and lively vine trees. I guess you didn't get my letter as their fighting turned worse. Words became hands. Hands became destructive. And sleepless nights seemed to be a starring trend. Three hundred sixty four days later I burned a note scattered on a post it Asking for some simple guidance; In return my family tore My heart was tagged into a jar, Labeled -unhealthy and stressed. 2012 was supposed to My year! But I guess the year didnt get my memo for instead of crossing milestones, I was tripping on thousands of pebble sized rocks. By the end of the year. I had wished that the mayans were right And we were to parish and die. For 2013 I just wanted a speck of confidence and that was disturbingly taken away You see, im angry because you left me a shell of a girl You threw me away My dreams became whispers of nothing as they were shredded with a closed door. 2014. I wrote down on a spare piece of paper and placed it in my mailbox I wanted a break. Instead I got unhealthy intoxication And family who didnt know how to behave. That year , I was gifted with undeniable heartbreak 2015 is a sob story you see. I asked for some time I guess you laughed And came up with a dark humor filled rhyme Because in the first month , You allowed my rock and my strength to die. The hands however stopped. The fighting grew dim. Two separate houses starting with a 6 feet deep hole How grim. For 2016 I don't think I asked for a thing. I was too tired to try Too tired to sigh And instead learned of another poison- A drink. For all was gone And hope was dim. Yet I awoke the next morning in bed and okay My broken family watching all tear stained I think at that second I begun to realize my mistake So 2017 Don't give me a thing Ill work on it myself I will somehow win
