Wooden Heart

The woman in gray Has a wooden heart. She keeps it wrapped In threads of hate, Sticky threads Coated in ink. And so, I say I don't like her. I don't like her at all Until company comes. Because then, When she hears that doorbell, She seems to change Into a decent person But this is temporary. And unfortunately, She tricks us all. We think she has changed Until we return To our senses And remember She can never change. She has a wooden heart, Even when company comes.
