Dry Bones

I speak of dry bones, Abandoned and forgotten. Dead empty plains Where nothing grows. I speak of dry bones And sunken cities. Blank checks and wilted flowers. People don't know What life is anymore Because all they know Is poverty. The way of being destitute Is how they were taught And so They are only A little more alive Than the dry bones Of which I speak.
