Way Down

Way down, Deep in the voids, Deep in the darkness She waits Unseen, Unheard, Unnoticed. Sitting in a room Surrounded by black and white voids Of silence And darkness And loneliness And doubt. Wishing this room Was not a little piece Of blue heaven Surrounded by voids. Wishing she could be up here With the gentle ones. Wishing that she was not Way down, Deep in the darkness. But up here, Most of us don't know That place exists. And most of us don't care, We're too preoccupied. Too busy saying We have it bad, That we've hit the bottom. We call ourselves the gentle ones But we aren't always gentle. We, the gentle ones Are gentle to strangers But we fight each other, Blame each other, Curse each other, Slam the door In each other's faces. Because we don't realize There's a place Way down, Deep in the darkness Surrounded by black and white voids Where a girl waits In the silence And the solitude, Wishing she was with us, The so-called gentle ones.
