Diamonds

Little diamonds On your black velvet canopy, Like A night sky A sky of diamonds. Shining, Sparkling, Reflecting. Blinding lights in the day, Shiny mirrors Though almost invisible In the night. Black velvet night Is not real night. Rays of sun Still shining through And the diamonds blind you; It's like you just Stared right into the Midday sun Standing out in a Vast open prairie. But in the darkness The real night, Diamonds on your Black velvet canopy Don't make it Look like day; Looking at them It's like staring Into a mirror In almost complete darkness. In the day And in the night Your black velvet canopy Will always be Your sky of diamonds.
