Autumn Leaves

Falling from the tree The troubles from this year Are dying Fading Falling out of memory Soon they'll be dead Forgotten Unable to reach us Or haunt us As we prepare for a new day A new month A new year A new age. But I shall still remember The roses you gave me Last spring And the soft summer rain Falling on the rooftop And on our heads. Autumn leaves Perhaps they aren't the best sign For there will never be another year Exactly like this one Every leaf is different Every autumn Every day Every year They can't be the same Can they?
