10 paragraph essays

And 20 minute diatribes Long loud speeches Praising perfectly flawed things Perfectly perfect things, you're corrected... 10 paragraph essays You're all forced to read But they make no sense They go around in circles It's illogical Illogical I tell ya! And yet the sweet sound Of one person's contentment Seems to drown out The rage of 20 Because one person is happy So you all must be happy right? Just hiding it maybe? No! That can't be! And yet it has to be Because one person sees no other way. 20 minute diatribes That serve no purpose Except to provide background noise To keep the weary from sleeping perhaps Or to keep the inquisitive unable to concentrate? Shake your head Because you'll never know They'll never tell you And those others who know, Well you're taught when you're young To trust only those Who carry the clipboards And regard all other accounts From those who wear backpacks As rumors you can't take seriously. 10 paragraph essays And 20 minute diatribes But we don't have time for that Because while innocent people learn how to hate The world we underappreciate Declines and there's nothing we can do Except sit here And try not to lose our cool It seems The only action The people with the clipboards Desire to take Is 10 paragraph essays And 20 minute diatribes.
