The Depths Below

LauraAnxious

It is hungry It's mouth is open and ravenous Calling for me A convulsing body of water Alive Coarse sand whips my bare skin The wind burns like fire But the rain beats at me Thrashes at my door As the cragged rocks serenely survey

I glimpse the sky A breath from heaven Which is gone Before I can gasp

It is taken By a water colour painting Of ice blue and valley green A solid wave of monstrous water It's rabid mouth frothy with foam Like a lace doily

As the undercurrents sweep me From the tight depths of reality I inhale The wretched scent of death As the salty waves become a part of me Intoxicating me My breath is frozen Inside my lungs Coughing up ice From the depths of my soul And I pray That you will not forget me And if you do It is because we are together
